Dr. Jothi Raamahlingam obtained his dental degree from Universiti
Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2009. Following his undergraduate degree, he
was selected to join back UKM as an academic staff. He was offered
scholarship to pursue further surgical training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
in The University of Hong Kong. He underwent training in Queen Mary
Hospital and Prince Philip Dental Hospital, which are two centres that
manage complex oral and maxillofacial surgeries in Hong Kong. He also
obtained membership diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons,
Edinburgh in year 2012.
Upon graduating, he served as a lecturer / Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, at
Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM and Faculty of Dentistry, UKM for
seven years. Besides clinical work, he was also actively involved in
undergraduate and postgraduate surgical training and served as the
coordinator for undergraduate oral & maxillofacial surgery course during that
period. In addition to routine maxillofacial surgical practices, he has special
interest in maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery and dental implants.
He actively publishes in academic journals and serving as reviewer in some
renown national and international scientific journals. He is also serving as a
key opinion leader (KOL) for a major dental implant system.
